It was 2005, and I was hallucinating and crouched down under the sink area in my bathroom in the locked unit of the local hospital. I had lost everything in my apartment in Metairie, and would not return to school for several months because of the recent hurricane that we now know was one of the worst in history, Hurricane Katrina. At the time, I never thought I would regain a “normal” life. I was somewhat hopeless about my drug regimen, my future as a pharmacy student, and returning to my flooded apartment. When we are faced with hardships, at the time of the crisis, it sometimes seems that it will never get better, that things will not change and that the problem has no chance of resolving. But I have learned that God has a way of making the impossible, possible. Not only did I get my degree from the university that I was attending at the time, but eventually I met a doctor that put a plan in place that created a drug regimen that would change my life. God keeps putting His “super” on my “natural” and helping me along this journey. So, no, I’m not “superwoman”, but I am amazed at how far I have come since those days after the hurricane. No longer hopeless, but driven to help others reach their full potential and strive to keep making and obtaining those goals. And showing others that it “CAN” be done.
Superwoman? Not really…..
