Last week was long and demanding for me at work, so the last thing that I wanted to do was work when I came home. You have to know my husband to know that he’s not the “cutesy, romantic” type. He’s silent, strong and often I have to “ask” to know what is on his mind. Somehow, our relationship was strengthened in a way that is hard to explain and it was connected to something as simple as a firepit. Sitting under the house, talking and warming ourselves around that fire pit this weekend allowed us to re-connect in a way that was needed. We laughed and helped each other to shed the stress of the week. The flames rekindled and rebooted our relationship because we were able to just relax and enjoy each other in a new setting. Change is everything.

I thank God for the small things. Who would have known that a little bit of wood could make such a difference? We worked together to keep the fire going and it made us a better team in the end.
