For years, I was searching for my “purpose”. I was fumbling around trying to find that thing that defined who I was in this world, how I would make my mark in history. Finally, after prayers and joining groups about purpose and as time passed, I finally found out that my “calling” was actually several different things at one time. I was gradually progressing to operating in my “purpose” while I was beginning to accept myself and become more comfortable with my skills in several areas. The more comfortable I was with myself, the better I began to contribute to others as I operated in the various areas. Now, you may be called in one area or you may be called in several but be patient with yourself as you journey through life. Acceptance was key to me functioning in my purpose. No matter what others may say in reference to the areas that I operate in, I am comfortable enough now to know that I am supposed to be doing what I am doing because I have been called to those areas, not by man, but by God. If any changes need to be made, or any adjustments need to be made, I am seeking direction and guidance from the proper source. I regularly pray and read the Word of God. When problems arise, and they always do, I don’t get discouraged because I know that God is faithful and He has a solution to whatever is going on.

Take baby steps. Today you may need to love yourself enough just to get out of the bed or just to take a walk outside. Give yourself grace as you learn to love and accept yourself. This was not an easy task for me. But I did it. And you can too.
