Without giving away the details of the sermon, I realized the other day the importance of knowing the inner strength and full capacity that being a “child of God” gives me. I realized the true meaning of what it means when you can really do “all things through Christ”. There was a comparison of an eagle that was raised with a group of chickens. Until he finally saw a full grown eagle soaring in the sky, he didn’t know that he had the ability to fly. If he had never seen the eagle, he may have never realized that he could even leave the coop. Sometimes in life we are like that displaced eagle, if we don’t get exposed to people who are ‘soaring in life’ we may never realize that we can reach certain goals in life, we may “never leave the coop” and enlarge our territory enough to accomplish everything we were meant to accomplish. I don’t want to “stay pecking with the chickens”! I want to “soar with the eagles”!!! I want to get everything out of life that I was meant to get. Take the chains off. Take the limits off. I want it all. So, I want to trust and believe in the Lord that he is taking me higher. I want to learn from my mistakes. I want to know what I need to learn from my experiences, so that I can become better, wiser, closer to the will of God. I am “an eagle”!!!
